Logan, Utah
Every year at the 4th of July you can count on me spending 3 days visiting the State Fair Grounds in the town of Logan, Utah gazing with adoration upon the finest classic cars from all over the southwest.
With a creek gently making its way beneath towering trees you can spend all day slowly walking, looking, chatting and admiring these truely beautiful works of restoration.
The 3 days include a drive through Logan Canyon over to Bear Lake for a Dutch Oven cookout. The event is capped off with the give-away of a completely restored car, this year a black and yellow '37 Ford Coupe.
Following the drawing, the cars all head out to Main Street for a 'Cruise-In Vehicles Only' cruise on the closed street. Lined with spectators, the engines roar and the horns
blare as the cars roar up and down the main street in town.
After about an hour, the Main Street is opened for everyone and the cruise continues til about 1:30 in the morning. Everyone has a great time. Cars are stuffed with kids, pickups carrying sofas and chairs decked with friends gently cruise Main.
It's the greatest fun I have had for 50 years. Enjoy the photos.
