*Awaiting a Title*
With the lottery ticket out of sight and out of mind, I proceeded towards the gas station. As I entered, I noticed that a T.V. was on behind the counter. I paid it no mind and hurried to the drink section. After picking out a couple of Gatorades, I headed to the checkout counter. The news was on the aforementioned T.V. As the cashier scanned in the drinks, I listened to the afternoon news. The cashier read me the total which came to $4.33. I pulled out my wallet and rummaged around for a 5 dollar bill. But all I came up with was two 1's and three quarters. I frantically scrambled to find my left over lunch money from the previous school day. I jammed my hand into the pocket that contained the lottery ticket. Thinking it was more money, I whisked it out just as the newscaster began to read off the latest lottery numbers. I inadvertently followed along on my lottery ticket. It was perfect. Every number matched exactly to that said by the newscaster. All I could do was stare. First at the ticket, then at the winning numbers, then back again. Life had just gotten so happy, so fast.
