Advanced Digital Imaging

Welcome back to Advance Digital Imaging. I am sorry that I could not be here on the very first day of the semester. I had a funeral to attend.

Each of you should have taken the basic Digital Imaging class. I will assume that you know what I mean when I refer to Adobe Photoshop or Dreamweaver.
If you do not remember all the buttons and tools, that's ok. We will learn these again as we try some of the basic assignments.

Assignment 1 - Name Tags

I know that you have seen these ID tags that hang around peoples necks on a lanyard or dangle from a little clip. Your first assignment will be to create your own ID tag. These will be required to go outside on assignment.

Specifications:
1. 4" wide by 3" tall.
2. 300ppi
3. bleed 4 sides
4. save as a .jpg, (12) high res.

To accomplish the above, open Adobe Photoshop. Press control>N and begin opening a new document.

Specify this document to be 2x the size of the final document. (8" wide by 6" tall, 300ppi.)

Now, with a larger image area to work in, include the following items:
1. Heritage Academy 2011-12
2. Advanced Digital Imaging Class (this can abreviated or made into and acronym, you can choose and play with this.
3. A headshot of you.
4. A barcode. Create this yourself.
5. Specify your access to events
6. Make the background a color, include textures, images or whatever items you can to make this look like a secure document.
7. This can have a front and back - different images. Use your imagination for the back.
8. Do not crop this down to the final size until after I have seen it.

Remember, the sample below is only a sample. Yours should look completely different. Enjoy creating something radical!
